I wanted to write something about how I feel about Passion week and Easter Sunday but my good friend wrote an email to our young adult fellowship ministry and I wanted to share it with everyone because it written so well and you can feel the spirit coming from it as you read it:
"This week is considered Passion Week, which is named this because of the passion with which Jesus WILLINGLY went to the cross in order to pay for the sins of His people (us). Glory to God! Let is reflect on what our Lord and Savior did for us, so we might live with Him eternally. It was at the cross that He took on ALL of our sins, before (and after) we committed them. Each nail in His hands and feet, cut, bruise, crown of thorns, broken arm, crushed ribs, unrecognizable face, etc.,was done for ALL OF US. There is NO greater love (not even your children, spouse, parents or family members) than that of the action of Jesus. Jesus WAS God manifested in flesh. We praise the Lord for getting up EARLY Sunday morning (we don't know what time), and because He got up, we too can get up!
As you go through this week...don't just "go through this week". REALLY and TRULY reflect on what Jesus Christ did for US. After the Lord had spoken he went up into heaven. Sitting is a posture of rest, he had finished his work; and a posture of rule, he took possession of his kingdom. He sat at the right hand of God, which denotes his sovereign dignity and universal power. Whatever God does concerning us, gives to us, or accepts from us, it is by his Son. Now he is glorified with the glory he had before the world.
As Jesus willingly suffered for us, so should WE be willing to suffer for the cause of following Him and proclaiming the message of His death and resurrection. God bless you all."
In His Service,
SP
Happy Easter Everyone. Don't let candy and bunnies hide the real meaning of what Easter is all about.
Keep on Evolving,
Mr. Robinson
